PB&A, Inc. is an innovative engineering firm specializing in shoring and earth-retention systems. We've taken on some of the biggest West Coast infrastructure projects in recent years, including San Francisco's Transbay Terminal, Los Angeles Metro's Regional Extension and the Westside Purple Line Extension, and San Diego's Midcoast Light Rail Extension.
Project Engineer
PB&A has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer with strong computer skills, both in design and drafting. Previous experience in the design of Shoring, Retaining Walls and SOE design is preferred. A MS degree in Structural Engineering, with a solid background in Soils Mechanics and Foundation Engineering are a strong advantage.
Requirements:
- •Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- •AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Mathcad, Risa 3D
- •Finite Element Analysis (Plaxis or Flac)
- •Slope stability programs (SLIDE)
- •Knowledge of Midas Civil and Tekla is a plus
Responsibilities:
- •Perform design and analysis of complex support of excavation projects
- •Prepare plans and specifications in accordance with applicable DOT and other Agencies Design Guidelines
- •Perform Independent Design Check calculations
- •Perform design options/alternates for both technical & economic impact (VE)
- •Ensure proper codes and standards are being used on projects
- •Ability to work on fast paced projects

Drafter
PB&A has an immediate opening for a Drafter with strong computer skills. Previous experience in the design of Shoring, Retaining Walls and SOE design is preferred, with a solid background in Structural Engineering; Soils Mechanics and Foundation Engineering.
Requirements:
- •Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- •AutoCAD proficiency required
- •Revit (modeling) experience
- •MicroStation experience
Responsibilities:
